Pier 1 located in Racine is closing

How sad. Pier 1 on 2621 S. Green Bay Road in Racine is one of the 450 stores that will close in the upcoming closing spree the company is making. It was a bit on the pricier side, sure, but I don't think that it needs to close.

Very worried about Pier 1 Imports now. They will close even more stores and will try to cut their debt but I heard several people say that this might not be enough and that the possibility of a bankruptcy looms menacingly over the company.

I was so disappointed when Pier 1 closed in Canoga Park this July. Their Canoga Avenue store was nothing short of excellent. So clean and organized. I just love clean stores so much. Makes me much more comfortable shopping there.

Upper East Side lost Pier 1

Ohh, I feel sooo bad for the employees that worked in the Pier 1 Imports in the Upper East Side store on 3rd Avenue. They were so approachable and friendly. I usually felt stupid asking the staff questions, but they never made me feel uncomfortable... — read more

It was a nice store, but an obvious one to close in Madison. There is very little retail left in this area. There are the Eastside and Westside locations, and that is plenty for a town this size.

Pier 1 shortcomings

Pier 1 is closing so many of their stores these days that it's becoming alarming to say the least. At least to me it is since I loved Pier 1 but even I have come to realize that they are too expensive and over-priced.

Pier 1 closed New York store
